Self-service settings
Use Settings → Self-Service to control what employees can see and do in the Self Service portal. You can set who appears in the Who is Away list, when payslips become visible, whether attendance earnings are shown, and which check-in options each employee can use.
Leave visibility
Section titled “Leave visibility”Choose who employees can see in the Who is Away list:
- Private: employees see only their own leave status.
- Unit Only: employees see colleagues in their own unit.
- Department Only: employees see everyone in their department, including colleagues in other units.
- Branch Only: employees see everyone in their branch, regardless of department.
- Organization (Public): employees see everyone across the organization who is on leave.
Payslip visibility
Section titled “Payslip visibility”Choose the earliest payroll stage at which employees can view their payslips. The available stages are Draft, In Review, Pending Approval, Approved, and Paid.
Employees can view their payslips once the payroll run reaches the selected stage. Choosing a later stage delays access until the run reaches that point.
Attendance earnings
Section titled “Attendance earnings”Choose whether employees can see the amount earned for each attendance:
- Hidden: employees cannot see their per-attendance earnings.
- Visible: employees can see their per-attendance earnings.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”The Permissions tab is a per-employee matrix of what employees can do in Self Service. Remote check-in, and the sites an employee can use for on-site mobile check-in, are set here.
You can also manage these permissions from an employee’s profile, under Employment → Self-Service.
The available controls are:
- Mobile app check-in: choose Follow org setting, Allowed, or Blocked. This is the only control that can allow mobile app check-in for an employee when the organization blocks it by default.
- Away from a site: choose Follow org setting or Blocked. This controls whether an employee can check in remotely. You can block remote check-in for an individual employee, but this setting cannot enable it when the organization-wide rules prohibit it. See Remote attendance.
- Which sites: choose All sites or Specific sites. When you select Specific sites, choose which sites the employee can use for mobile check-in.
