Using the dashboards
After entering an organization you land on Dashboards: an at-a-glance view of your workforce across six areas, switchable at any time with the tabs at the top.
Access & permissions
Section titled “Access & permissions”- The Dashboards menu appears in the sidebar when you have permission to see at least one dashboard (for example “View Workforce Analytics Dashboard”, “View Leave Dashboard”, and so on).
- Each dashboard tab loads data only when you have the permission for that specific dashboard. If a permission is missing or the module isn’t subscribed, that tab will not show data.
- As with everything else in the platform, what you see is also shaped by your data scope (branches, departments, units), see Roles & permissions.
The shared filter
Section titled “The shared filter”At the top-right of the Dashboards area sits a common filter: Filter by branch, department or unit. Select any combination of branches, departments, or units: active selections appear as removable chips.
This filter is shared across all six dashboard tabs: switching tabs keeps it applied, and every dashboard updates its figures to match. Removing all chips returns to the full organization.
Some dashboards (Time & Attendance, Leave, Payroll, Appraisal, Scheduling) also have their own additional filters on top of this common one, for example a date range, leave period, or pay group. Those are described on each dashboard’s page.
Notices & issues banners
Section titled “Notices & issues banners”At the very top of the Dashboards area, two types of banner may appear. They draw your attention to things that may need action:
Quick notice (blue, “Quick notice, no cause for alarm”)
Section titled “Quick notice (blue, “Quick notice, no cause for alarm”)”These are informational items that may need your attention, for example:
- Punches outside schedule hours this week, n punches were recorded outside the scheduled hours.
- Attendance without exit punch this week, n attendance records are missing an exit (check-out) punch.
You can dismiss a notice with its close control; it stays hidden for the rest of that view.
Issues need attention (amber/yellow)
Section titled “Issues need attention (amber/yellow)”These are actionable issues that can affect the accuracy of employee data and calculations. The banner shows a count and a short description, for example:
- Employees not in any group, n employees are not assigned to a work group.
- Work schedules without attendees, n schedules have no employees assigned.
- Employees have no enrollment ID, n employees have no device enrollment ID.
- Leave settings need setup, n leave settings require configuration.
- Leave holidays need to be set, n leave holidays have not been configured.
- Leave matrix lacks approvers / recommenders, approval matrices are missing an approver or recommender.
- Appraisal matrix lacks managers, appraisal matrices are missing a manager.
Click Review issues to open a side drawer listing every issue with a Fix button. Each Fix button jumps you to the exact page where the issue is resolved (for example the Employees list filtered to employees with no group, the Devices list for enrollment IDs, or Leave configuration for settings/holidays/matrices).
Interpreting the charts & counts
Section titled “Interpreting the charts & counts”- Count cards (the numbered figures at the top of each dashboard) often link through to the underlying records, for example the Employees figure opens the employee list, or Late comers opens the relevant attendance report. Where a card links, click it to drill in.
- Charts are visual summaries; hover over points/bars/slices for details where available.
- Many panels show a count badge in their header (the number of records represented) and have their own pagination when there is more than one page.
- Sections may briefly show a skeleton placeholder while their data loads.
Layout summary
Section titled “Layout summary”The sections below describe what each tab shows.
A high-level picture of your workforce: how many employees you have, their age and tenure, and how they break down by department, gender, employment type, education, and length of service.
- Summary counts, total Employees (opens the employee list for your scope), Average age, and Average tenure.
- Composition charts, employees per department, gender split, employment type split, education levels, and length-of-service bands.
- Age demography, how many employees fall into each age bracket.
- Birthdays, upcoming birthdays with a Today / This Week / This Month / Next Month selector, showing date, name, and phone number.
- Headcount by department, a table breaking each department down by permanent, contract, casual, and other employment types, with a bold totals row.
A real-time and period-based view of attendance: who is at work, absent, late, the earliest arrivals, perfect attendance, plus a live list of who is on site right now.
Its own Date filter defaults to the current month; today’s counts sit above it while the charts follow the selected range.
- Summary counts, Employees expected today, At work, Absent, and Late comers, each linking to the relevant records.
- Charts, total attendance over time, plus absenteeism, lateness, and early clock-ins as percentages per department.
- Rankings, early birds (name, days, how early), lates (days and how late), longest perfect-attendance streaks, and recorded absences.
- Real-time attendance, a live-updating list of everyone on site today: schedule, name, arrival time, and a green indicator while still in session. People appear the moment they clock in and switch to Exited when they leave, no refreshing needed.
Leave across the organization: who is away today, what’s coming up, what’s awaiting approval, and company-wide statistics.
Its own filter, Filter by leave type, status or period, sits above the summary counts and applies to everything below it: pick leave types, request statuses (pending, recommended, approved, rejected, revived, cancelled), or a leave period.
- Summary counts, On-leave Today (approved leave active today), Upcoming Leave, and Pending Approval (requests pending or already recommended).
- Company leave statistics, the share of leave taken by type, and usage versus allocation.
- Leave status per department, which departments have people on leave, and in what state.
- Leave dynamics, how leave has trended over the period.
- Leave requests table, individual requests (employee, start and end dates, color-coded status); the panel title follows your status filter. Manage these requests under Request leave for an employee.
Performance for a specific appraisal year and window (cycle). The underlying years, windows, and assignments are managed in Run appraisal cycles.
Two required, unclosable filter chips drive everything: Year (defaults to the current year) and Appraisal Window (the cycle containing the current month).
- Performance insight counts, average score, plus one card per performance band showing how many employees fall into it. Clicking a band opens the employee performance report for that score range.
- Status report, how many employees are at each stage of the appraisal process.
- Bell curve, how scores distribute across the workforce.
- Nine box, employees plotted on a performance grid to spot top performers, high potentials, and people who may need attention.
An executive view of payroll: summary totals, gross vs net trends, employer cost, and this year’s run history.
Its own filter narrows by pay group or payroll period.
- Summary for the most recent period, in your organization’s currency: Cost to Company, Earnings, Deductions, Payable Tax, and Social Security.
- Gross vs net trend, both tracked across successive periods.
- Employer cost, total cost, current vs previous net pay with an up/down change chip, and, for organizations in Ghana, a cost-composition breakdown of gross salary, SSNIT, and Tier 3 contributions.
- Per-department charts, deductions, staff cost, and earnings by department.
- Net pay per bank, how payroll splits across the banks employees are paid through.
- Payroll history, this year’s runs: period, date run, period start/end, gross and net amounts, run type, and a colored status badge (Draft, Review, Approved, Paid, …). The lifecycle behind those badges is covered in Run payroll.
Shift and schedule planning: coverage, unassigned shifts, and how schedules spread across shift types, weekdays, and departments.
- Summary counts, Total Schedules Created (employees with a schedule; clicks through to Work schedules & calendar), Shift Coverage Rate, Unassigned Shifts, and Schedule Compliance Readiness (the percentage of departments with complete schedules planned).
- Creation trend vs actual attendance, scheduled employees plotted against those who actually attended, with period selectors from the last 30 days up to two years.
- Shift type distribution, employees per shift type, with counts and percentages.
- Shift category load by weekday, a heatmap of employees per shift type per day, shaded by intensity so busy days stand out.
- Departmental schedule allocation, assigned vs unassigned employees stacked per department.
